A Green Place Setting

This repurposed placemat, plate, cup, fork, spoon and knife give a new meaning to the picnic concept. Mundane items, often overlooked, breathe anew with a touch of creativity.

This piece is brimming with obsessive detail. Using only a single blade razor, about 10,000 blades of grass are sprouted and clay lumps become use-hardened garden tools. The materials in this piece are as straight-forward as the concept: a place setting and clay. That’s all.

The tools used: one straight blade razor and a pair of hands.

This is one of my personal favorite pieces…carpal-tunnel not withstanding.

Exhibited at the Art Director's Club in NYC.
